A 61-year-old Smiths Station woman was killed Monday afternoon when her vehicle struck a tractor-trailer at the intersection of U.S. Highway 280 East and Lee Road 248.Semi collides with car, killing woman on HWY 280 (WTVM 9 Columbus) SMITHS STATION, AL (WTVM) - Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at Lee County Road 248 and Highway 280 at mile marker 118 around 1:00 p.m. Monday. A Smiths Station woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
